In the Apparatenfabriek, artist Natalie Ypma gives vintage clothing a second life. CJ Studio, short for Creative City Junkie, is her upcycling label. She hand-paints jackets, jeans and coats, so every piece is unique and more wearable art than clothing. Her style is headstrong and full of symbolism, partly inspired by her Indonesian roots. If you care about sustainability and would rather not follow trends, this is the place for you. “We’re not interested in fitting in, we prefer to stand out.” From 2027 you can also join workshops at her studio and paint your own jacket.
