After 16 years, Seats2meet is leaving Strijp-S; meeting function will continue at Microlab
After 16 years, Seats2meet Strijp-S is closing its location in the Apparatenfabriek. From 1 September, its meeting, event and networking function will continue within Microlab, also located at Strijp-S.
Seats2meet opened in the Apparatenfabriek in 2010 and grew into a well-established place for meetings, events, independent working and connecting with others. The location was used by companies, entrepreneurs, public authorities and other organisations from Eindhoven and beyond.
The Apparatenfabriek will be redeveloped over the coming years. In consultation, it was therefore decided to terminate the lease agreement with Seats2meet.
From 1 September, the Seats2meet concept will continue within Microlab at Kastanjelaan 400 in Eindhoven. Over the past few months, work has been carried out there to renovate and create a new space for meetings, events and networking, allowing existing Seats2meet customers and users to continue their activities at Strijp-S. The Seats2meet brand will become part of Microlab, and the Seats2meet name will disappear from Strijp-S.
Jos Goijaerts of Trudo stresses the importance of retaining this function at Strijp-S. “S2M established itself at Strijp-S early in the area’s development and has made a significant contribution to the vibrancy of the district. In the future, Strijp-S must remain a place where people not only live, but also work in a dynamic environment.”
Park Strijp Beheer also sees an ongoing role for these types of facilities. Alwin Beernink: “Shared facilities are precisely the places where both expected and unexpected encounters take place. Microlab is an important community at Strijp-S, and Seats2meet gives more people the opportunity to become part of it.”
For Luc van der Keijlen, co-founder of Seats2meet, this is also the moment to pass on the baton. His son, Justin van der Keijlen, will join Microlab and remain involved in the further development of the meeting and event facilities.
The new location within Microlab will open on 1 September.
