Electronic pioneers Kraftwerk coming to Klokgebouw on Strijp-S

Legendary electronic band Kraftwerk is coming to Eindhoven this spring. In June, the influential German group will perform at the Klokgebouw on Strijp-S for a special concert.

Kraftwerk is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of electronic music. Founded in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, the band helped shape a new musical sound built around synthesizers, drum machines and vocoders. Their work has influenced genres ranging from techno to hip-hop and modern electronic music.

A special connection with Eindhoven
The concert at the Klokgebouw is particularly fitting because of Kraftwerk’s historical connection with Eindhoven. Early releases by the band appeared on the Philips record label, and the Klokgebouw itself was once part of the large Philips industrial complex located on what is now Strijp-S. The show also marks the band’s return to the city more than a decade after their previous performance in Eindhoven.

Concert in June
The concert will take place on 11 June at the Klokgebouw on Strijp-S. Ticket sales are expected to start in March. Visitors can look forward to a distinctive audiovisual performance combining music, technology and visuals — a hallmark of Kraftwerk’s live shows. With this performance, the Klokgebouw once again adds a major international act to the cultural programme of Strijp-S.
