Trudo to Start Development of New Residential Project Delta at Strijp-S

In the heart of Strijp-S, work is progressing on a new residential development: Delta at Veld D. As part of Fase 4 of the area’s transformation, this project marks an important next step in the evolution of the former Philips industrial site into a vibrant and socially connected urban district.

The plan includes the construction of 236 homes on a 6,000 m² site located between Kastanjelaan, the bus lane and the Bosch building on Torenallee. The development offers a mix of social housing and mid-range rental homes, ranging from compact apartments to family-sized residences.

A key principle of the design is community building. The complex is structured to encourage interaction and connection between residents, with shared indoor spaces and a central communal courtyard. Internal walkways link the different building sections, contributing to an open and lively residential environment.

What makes Delta unique is the integration of special housing initiatives within the project. The residential collective Klein Zwitserland will occupy two of the seven building sections, providing housing for 53 members who focus on shared management and community activities. In addition, in collaboration with Sint-Annaklooster, the project will include Domos Soteria: a hospice and residential facility with fifteen rooms for young adults requiring intensive care, located right in the city.

Preparations for construction are well underway. The site has been remediated and made ready for development, and the design and permitting processes have been completed. Construction is expected to start in early 2026, with completion anticipated around mid-2028.

With Delta, Strijp-S takes another meaningful step toward becoming a sustainable, diverse and socially connected urban neighborhood where different generations and housing concepts come together.
